Indian Party Dresses: Beyond the Sari

Perfect outfits for every event

Sarees are perhaps the most well-known and iconic of Indian party dresses in Indian fashion, with their long, flowing, colorful fabrics, but there is much more to them. Anarkali Indian party dresses , for example, are inspired by the Mughal era and feature flowing silhouettes and full skirts.

Featuring long sleeves and intricate embroidery, they are perfect for afternoon or evening events. Lehengas, consisting of long skirts and elegant blouses, are made with zari embroidery and beadwork and are widely worn for festive events and weddings in India.

What is the dress code for Hindu festivals?

  1. Religious festivals:
  • Festivals like Holi and Diwali are infused with colours. Dress reflects this joy, with bright and vibrant garments like saris, lehengas and kurta-pyjamas. Auspicious colours like red, yellow and orange are encouraged.
  1. Wedding:
  • Elegant saris and embellished suits: Indian weddings are lavish and call for elegant attire. Brides often opt for heavy saris or richly embroidered lehengas. Men sport sherwanis or kurta suits with detailed embroidery.
  1. Family celebrations:
  • For family events like birthdays and anniversaries, the choice of attire can vary. Women can wear lighter outfits such as anarkalis or salwar kameez, while men can opt for kurta-pyjamas or less formal sherwani suits.
  1. 4. Seasonal celebrations:
  • Depending on the season, the textures and fabrics of Indian party dresses can change. In winter, heavier fabrics like silk and wool are popular, while in summer, lighter options like cotton are preferred.

How important are jewels?

Jewelry is essential at Hindu celebrations. Women often wear statement earrings, necklaces, and bangles. Men also accessorize their outfits with accessories, such as watches and brooches. Complementing these Hindu party dresses , Hindu jewelry dazzles with precious stones, gold, and artistic designs. Maang Tikka, Nath, and Bangles are essential to complete the festive look.

Celebrations full of shine and color

Each colour in Indian fashion has deep meanings. Vibrant reds symbolise passion, while greens represent harmony and yellows, joy. Indian fashion varies from region to region; Banarasi of Uttar Pradesh, Kanjeevaram of Tamil Nadu and Bandhani of Rajasthan offer unique and distinctive styles.

At Radha's Tribe we use all these types of saris to create our collections. Discover them by visiting our website!
